Joanna Girling

Joanna Girling is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at West Middlesex University Hospital, part of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She set up the Obstetric Medicine Clinic there in 1998. Since then she has developed it into a thriving, multiprofessional, holistic service for all local families who experience medical complexities during or soon after pregnancy. This includes provision of prepregnancy care for some patients.

She is a medical assessor for the national Confidential Enquiry into Maternal Mortality run by MBRRACE – UK.  She is also the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists representative at the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee, which provides systematically-developed national clinical practice guidelines based on current best evidence for UK NHS ambulance service paramedics.
